Welcome
Welcome...
I am still in the early stages of development, and with time, the site will expand with more of my captures, from native and endemic birds of New Zealand, to surfing, seascapes and landscapes as well as the opportunity to purchase prints or fully framed pieces. Check out my gallery and don't hesitate to get in touch.

About Me
Being born and bred in Taranaki, I was exposed at a young age to the raw natural beauty that the region has to offer. From Mounga to Moana, the old-growth Kānuka and Kamahi forests of Mt Taranaki, to the hypnotic and brutal waves that roll into the West Coast, I was enamoured by what the landscape had to offer.
My love for photography began at high school in the darkroom at FDMC. Using an old Minolta SLR, I began to learn the art of the shutter and the subsequent chemical development processes found under the red light. After failing the course, I would put the camera down for a number of years before picking it up again while living in Wellington. Here I would spend hours around the vast coastline of the lower North Island, finding contentment in the rugged but stunning isolation.
Over time, my passion for the natural environment grew and eventually combined with my love for shooting photos. I was particularly drawn to the beautiful and charismatic endemic/native birds I saw on tramps and hikes and in our (much needed) sanctuaries like Zealandia and Rotokare. They are truly stunning creatures, and many are in serious trouble. One of the goals of my photography is to help others fall under their spell, just as I have.
When I’m not looking for colour in our birds, I’m often found at one of the many surf breaks lining our coast, capturing another one of my loves – surfing…
